5 Years… where have they gone? {Yadkinville, NC Photographer}

Yesterday Justin and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. Its hard to believe and I still try to sit and figure out where it went. I do feel like we have been married forever, but at the same time…. it feels like its passed by so quickly! I guess I have the ARMY to blame for part of it. He was in Iraq for 15 months out of our first 20 months of marriage, then straight to all kinds of classes then was out of state at recruiting school for almost 3 months. So, those first few years really did fly by. We got married at the court house in Yadkinville with our moms as our witnesses on Jan 4th, 2007, but had an official ceremony with our friends and family when he came home from Iraq in August 2008.  We had Ryan in August of our first year of marriage and Paige in our 3rd and have NO plans to add another in the 5th… or 6th or even 7th year of marriage.  We’ve moved more than any couple should move in the first 5 years, but thankfully this last move brought us home in NC and out of the Army. We remodeled the house I lived in when I was the same age as our kids and even though its small, its ours… and we love every tiny square foot of it.  The last few months have been tough adjusting to the civilian world and trying to restart my business in another state, but we are so thankful to finally be back around family. Sure, we have our fights and I honestly feel like I could scream if he leaves the cabinet door wide open…. again. But he makes me happy, he makes me laugh and we love each other with all our hearts… and that far outweighs anything else. So here’s to me and Justin, and another 5 years as great as the last. I love you Justin.
